Born: 10/15/74, Washington D.C.
(But I'm from Pittsburgh!)
Education: Pittsburgh H.S. for Creative & Performing
arts (Studied a year of theater, and then switched to music)
-
Clarion University of Pa. (Majored in journalism, minored in music)
-
Studied privately with bassist Paul Thompson (He's a great friend and brilliant
musician)
Performance History: My first band was
called Spot the undercover stunt-dog band (don't ask), which I joined in
college. Later after that bands dissolution, I connected with a much
heavier outfit called Weld, which would soon thereafter be rechristened
Cabal. After leaving school, I joined The Young Americans, a performance
company which provided many tremendous educational and performing
opportunities, including four national tours, one international tour,
and numerous stadium/arena performances including an NFL halftime
show (Lions/Steelers, 1998). Since settling down in California, I have
stayed busy with lots of freelance and studio work. I've gotten to play
with some great musicians (and some pretty bad ones as well). The most
steady of my current gigs are as follows.
-
Christian Worship center, my church, which is in Sylmar
-
The Kurt Hunter Band; an acoustic pop trio that works out of
Orange County
-
Jonathan Avila; A Spanish language Christian Rock singer
-
Angie Evans; Singer/Songwriter from Southern California.
-
Simple Function; I sing in this band.
